My "Peacock Feather" obsession!

I'm always asked, "whats up with your peacock theme", and to honest....I really don't have an answer, I just think peacock feathers are the most beautiful feathers I've ever seen!! The new trend (well.....new to me!) is bleaching a peacock feather, then DYEING it different shades of all one color. SO NOW, I'm even more obsessed, and i am in the process of making peacock feather earrings. I've always purchased peacock earrings for myself, but now...looking at them, they seem low quality and crappy. SO in conclusion, this is what has been occupying my free time for the last few days! Take a look at my "peacock feather" collection!

***Peacock feathers represent pride, and by extension, nobility and glory. Peacock feathers also are a symbol of good luck and well-being throughout Asia and most of the world. Peacocks are also known to eat poisonous plants with no ill effects, making their feathers a symbol of incorruptibility and immortality.***

On my wall.....

  1. Good gosh woman!!! YOu DO love those feathers!!!! I love them too, Ive painted them and sold some paintings with the theme. My store is yafanana at etsy

I am more into the brooches since I wear a scarf and that is usually where I want to show off any embellishment to my outfit. I actually think the feathers that aren't trimmened are more fancy and demure becuase they curl up elegantly. I especially like the last feather in your 2nd to last photo :)
