INTJ- Personality Test results

WOW! Interesting.......

     Taken from:

All Rationals are good at planning operations, but Masterminds are head and shoulders above all the rest in contingency planning. Complex operations involve many steps or stages, one following another in a necessary progression, and Masterminds are naturally able to grasp how each one leads to the next, and to prepare alternatives for difficulties that are likely to arise any step of the way. Trying to anticipate every contingency, Masterminds never set off on their current project without a Plan A firmly in mind, but they are always prepared to switch to Plan B or C or D if need be.
Masterminds are rare, comprising no more than, say, one percent of the population, and they are rarely encountered outside their office, factory, school, or laboratory. Although they are highly capable leaders, Masterminds are not at all eager to take command, preferring to stay in the background until others demonstrate their inability to lead. Once they take charge, however, they are thoroughgoing pragmatists. Masterminds are certain that efficiency is indispensable in a well-run organization, and if they encounter inefficiency-any waste of human and material resources-they are quick to realign operations and reassign personnel. Masterminds do not feel bound by established rules and procedures, and traditional authority does not impress them, nor do slogans or catchwords. Only ideas that make sense to them are adopted; those that don't, aren't, no matter who thought of them. Remember, their aim is always maximum efficiency.
In their careers, Masterminds usually rise to positions of responsibility, for they work long and hard and are dedicated in their pursuit of goals, sparing neither their own time and effort nor that of their colleagues and employees. Problem-solving is highly stimulating to Masterminds, who love responding to tangled systems that require careful sorting out. Ordinarily, they verbalize the positive and avoid comments of a negative nature; they are more interested in moving an organization forward than dwelling on mistakes of the past.
Masterminds tend to be much more definite and self-confident than other Rationals, having usually developed a very strong will. Decisions come easily to them; in fact, they can hardly rest until they have things settled and decided. But before they decide anything, they must do the research. Masterminds are highly theoretical, but they insist on looking at all available data before they embrace an idea, and they are suspicious of any statement that is based on shoddy research, or that is not checked against reality.

SideShow Bob

I can't remember if it was my niece, nephew, or some obnoxious kid, but however, one upon a time I was told my pony-tail puff looked liked "SIDESHOW Bob" the from that used-to-be popular show "The Simpsons."

"Sideshow Bob"

Here's *MY* puff:

I put "Sideshow Bob" at about a 3c/4a curl texture, which is exactly what I am. So um yeah, it kinda does, I guess I'll call it "Sideshow Bob-Puff"! Totally random, and pointless. Thanks for reading!

I had such a great evening today! I am a HUGE Vanessa Williams fan, and tonight was to be the season premiere of Desperate Housewives, debuting Ms Williams herself. Sadly, I missed it. Instead, I had a lovely dinner, (corny choice of words, I know!) with some close friends (friends from Jr High school up until now) that I haven't seen in 3 years. You know those evenings? You sit around eating, playing silly board games, reminiscing, gossiping, burping, all that good stuff? Well tonight was one of those nights. True, I had to drive 45 minutes away (even surpassing the Compton Target ~see COMPTON HAUL video~), Los Angeles was HELL-ON-EARTH hot at 104 degrees today, AND I was in a lazy, cranky mood, but I would have chosen this over Desperate Housewives any day! Desperate Housewives, or making memories? Making memories is priceless. There is always HULU......

Hi! I am in the process of transitioning my hair from relaxed to natural. It's been about 9 mos so far and have felt quite frustrated many, many times already. But my natural hair is very similar to yours. Urs is too cute! Keep the info coming! Thx!

Thank you! Best of luck with your transition! :)

Ask me anything

Hai, what do you use to make your hair thicker?? How you feel about castoroil and pure coconutoil?

As far as hair thickness, I am right there with ya! I have very fine hair as well, but the only time I have an issue with it is when I am wearing my hair flat ironed. I do not like to use "volumizing" conditioner only because it tends to coat (MY) hair strands, and I honestly can not see a difference after. When in doubt, I sometimes add a track or two when my hair is straight!

Desperate Housewives New Season Premiere

I. AM. SO. EXCITED! Finally, something on TV to look forward to (that's NOT reality TV)! I haven't had anything to look forward to since Ugly Betty went off the air. For the record, I LOVE Vanessa Williams! She's been my IDOL since 1990! I've never watched Desperate Housewives, but I will now, starting this Sunday! (Now I feel like a hypocrite after my anti-TV post........OH WELL!)
Desperate Housewives New season premiere 9/26/2010 @ 9/8c on ABC.

My ""DIET"" that was to start after Labor Day, is failing miserably. Even though I live in Los Angeles, the "land of superficialities", I'm not trying to be skinny at all. I am a proud "thick-y-curvy" gal who just wants to lose a few pounds for her birthday. Should I YouTube about it?? BTW, I have the utmost respect and admiration for people who chronicle their weight loss through YouTube! Talk about some balls!!
Any who, back to the diet. I tried to go semi- vegetarian, but that just left me weak and dizzy. I am iron deficient/ anemic anyway, but I think I'm just one of those people who thrive on protein. YES, I know you can get protein in foods OTHER than meat, but I'm lazy and don't want to do ALL THAT! Those who follow me on twitter know that I "tweet" about food a lot, and that's because I'm trying to NOT EAT ANY OF IT! :) I'll kinda start to "watch it" starting September 18th, which is exactly a month before my birthday. Thanks for reading, just some random babbling .  ~sigh~

Stupid people watch TV. Preach Sista, PREACH!!

I am proud to say I do not have cable and haven't had cable since 2003. This blog post totally touched me today, so check out this blog written by BRITTNEYGRAY.  All I could think of was my niece and nephew who LIVE for TV. So true!

--We have trashy girls on t.v. getting drunk and naked, having sex on national television, grown women getting in fights, and girls constantly calling each other "fat and ugly" because it's the only insult that their simple minds can come up with. Luckily, I'm an adult and I've lived in the 90's and early 00's where t.v. wasn't as bad and I know the difference between bullshit shows and real life. Sadly, our younger generations are being brainwashed by this bullshit and they think that it's OK or normal or cool. Younger girls are not being taught how to be ladies. They're being taught that physical appearance matters most and that they should "go off" on people at the drop of a dime because that's what's on t.v. Notice how a lot of these "reality" show previews revolve around a scandal, fight, or argument. We're being brainwashed to hate each other, be sexually promiscuous, strive for fast cash in abundance, and buy excessive material things that they want us to think we need.
I have a special kind of dislike for a lot of hip hop videos. As you all know, these are the videos with the flashiest cars, jewelry, clothes, and the sexiest women. I have a specific dislike toward these videos because they're aimed toward black youth. What most people don't realize is that blacks specifically are being brainwashed to want these things especially in bad poverty stricken parts of the country. Young black men and women are brainwashed to think that the only way they can become rich or successful is to become a rapper or video hoe or some athlete's wife. The media is trying to dumb you down! Wake up! This is new age slavery. Slavery of the mind. A lot of young black people are so unaware of the potential they possess and it's sad. You can be a lot more than a rapper or video hoe. Don't be a puppet, make your own path.
As long as people continue to feed into this crap, the worse society is going to get. I know I'm not the only one who finds it annoying that everyone and their dog has a reality show. We all know it's stupid but we watch these shows anyway because they're nonetheless entertaining. Not to mention, the people who actually participate in these shows are puppets to the highest extent of the word. They naturally want to be on t.v. like most people, they make it onto the show, make a fool of themselves, then their 15 minutes of fame is up and the next round of delusional people are cast for a new show.

Dancing With The Stars

I am totally late with this, but RICK FOX is gonna be on Dancing With The Stars this season!!!! He is SO FINE (for an older man of course)! Even though he lost MAJOR points for doing what he did to my IDOL Vanessa Williams, you cant deny he is handsome! I've never watched DWTS, except for the when Kim Kardashian was on once upon a time, but that was it. Now is the time to invest in TiVo!!

(One of my favorite Ugly Betty episodes!)

"The events of 9/11 really call out different emotional strains in people - what it means to be an America, to be a person," - Brooklyn Arts Council folklorist Kay Turner

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today is a difficult day. The memories are painful and some of the wounds I fear may never heal. Yet I pray you will help me to go on living for truth, firm in my hope of your salvation. May I live for you, Lord, and by doing so, be an example to my friends and family. I pray, just like Jesus, I may learn obedience through these things that I have suffered. Help me not to question why, yet even if I do, give me courage to continue to trust you. Help me take the comfort and strength you've poured into my life and use it to comfort and strengthen others who need hope.
I pray I might become a better person and help make the world a better place because of this terrible event. Thank you for the heroes that gave so sacrificially on September 11. Help me to remember their courage and learn from them. I want my life to be worthy of you Lord, so make of it what you desire, and use me to fulfill your purposes. May the evil of that day cause me and my family to work harder to do good on this Earth and to bring your light into the dark places. Help me to never stop believing in you and living my life for you.

Lord, heal all those who were crushed and broken on that day. May they come to experience your presence and know your peace.

why dont you or can you do "outfit of the day"

I can start doing OOTD, but I don't really do "OOTD's" because my "look" is either an extreme casual (ie: pajamas with flip flops or yoga pants with an old tee to the grocery store) or overly dressed up (ie: full makeup club wear). Also the lighting in my house is so bad, its hard to see at times ESPECIALLY in the evenings. So I'll do OOTD's when I actually go somewhere!

What's your favorite lipstick?

OOH, that's a hard one! If I had to choose just one, I'd choose MAC Sophisto. It's a neutral "lustre", and I can change the look with different lip liners.

Labor Day Cliff Notes

Had a great Labor Day with the family in beautiful San Diego. Nothing "major" just having fun and silly with my niece and nephew.First we went to the movies (in Horton Plaza, which is in the Gaslamp District of San Diego, CA)

Horton Plaza
and saw "Lottery Ticket", which the kiddies requested. It was OK. The morale of the movie was a kinda "give back" message, which is good for those youngsters to hear.
After that we all couldn't decide what to eat for dinner : I wanted "really good sushi", my niece wanted "pasta" , my mom wanted "just a salad" , my sister wanted "alcohol", and my nephew wanted "cheeseburgers". OKAY, so after walking quite a bit (which was fine with me, downtown San Diego is beautifully interesting, and it was good to be reminded of that), we FINALLY settled on TGIFridays. I know right?! Real classy. I ordered a mixed berry Margarita, that had WAY to much Jose Cuervo Gold, and promptly traded with my sister (who had some sort of tropical fruity strawberry) because she wanted something stronger anyway.
(I had the drink on the left!)
BTW, my mom probably had the best tasting Mojito Ive EVER had. NO joke. Way to go TGIFridays!! On that note, Have you guys seen the TGIFriday's menu with the new California improved fat gram / calorie indicator the menus???

That ALONE Will make a person sick! The salads were like 1000 calories each, NOT including salad dressing. WHATEVER, I'm on vacation! (Since you're dying to know, I ended up ordering Buffalo Chicken Chibatta sandwich, with sweet potato fries, which I ending up dipping in RANCH dressing AND left over spinach artichoke dip.
TGIFriday pic I 'googled'
Yum! I probably ate 3 million calories that day, including the popcorn I had at the movies.
(Side note- my nephew decided to squeeze the plastic ketchup bottle with the lid closed, because, well.....THAT'S WHAT LITTLE BOYS DO! So guess what happened? The gets squirted all over him, and landed DEAD in his eye. I WANTED TO LAUGH SO BAD, but he's our baby and we couldn't do that to him, but he held it in and didn't cry, but that was hella funny!!)
After waddling to the car, we went back to my sister's house, which she recently moved into a beautiful, breathtaking downtown sky rise, on the 7th floor.

(A view similar to this pic)
My niece and nephew had to go to bed early because they were starting the first day of school (6th and 3rd grade) the next day!!! I was SO excited for them.  So after bidding them "Sweet Dreams" us "grown folks" all ended up gossiping the rest of the night, and my sister took pictures of herself to post on Facebook in between watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion show,
....which BTW, I'm proud to say I've NEVER and will never watch. Right before we were leaving, we looked out the window (of a downtown high rise, did I mention that already? ) and saw fireworks!!! YAY!! San Diego had a fairly new ballpark, PETCO Park, smack dab in the middle of downtown,
and I guess they had a Labor Day firework finale, and we had a superb view. I attempted to record it to share with you all, but it was WAY too dark...BOO! SO, see, we didn't do much, but I wouldn't have changed it for any other way! I love my family!

Why are you writing to yourself?

cause I can, you nosey bitch!

Ask me anything

Betrayed by a "Brotha"

~ OK, it wasn't that bad, but I thought this title would "grab ya"! ~
Today, since I was in the neighborhood, I decided to break down and purchase Kinky-Curly Knot Today and some coconut oil at my local Whole Foods. A few of my YouTube subbies suggested I try these products when I first started making videos on the YT, so I figured "what the hell"!
I found both products relatively quickly, so I ran to the shortest checkout line, and the cashier happened to be a African American male. He saw the "Organic Virgin Coconut Oil" in a jar, he took a beat, and said
"What chu' gonna cook with that"? (probably trying to flirt)
I said "OH, I'm not going to cook with this; I'm going to put this in my hair".
THEN he said (rather loudly with Jim Carrey face contortions):

"You gunna put DAT in your hair?!? What?!"

Should I have tried to educate him? Should I have been sarcastic? Should I make him feel stupid and retarded? Should I have lectured him?
I took a beat, then said "Its a really good hair moisturizer, you should GOOGLE it", then walked away.
I was SO mad at myself for not SAYING or DOING anything! For some reason AfricanExport, from youtube popped into my head at that moment. I wished I could have morphed into her (I <3 her, heres her YT page : http://www.youtube.com/AFRICANEXPORT) she would've most definitely "kept it real" with him!
I'm used to that from white people, or people with non curly hair, when I mention I put EVOO in my hair.  But from a black dude? A "brotha"? Even if he "didn't know, understand or comprehend", I thought that was kind of insensitive of him to say and do that to an African American (Bi Racial woman, what ever, this is my blog and I don't have to be PC) woman, where African American women, in general, are overly sensitive about their hair. I know *MY* sensitive ass is probably over-reacting, but his statement seemed to have a mocking undertone, and I was "bothered" by that all day. Then again, I live in LA, and all you see are butt-length weaves here anyway, so true he probably "didn't know better". Whatever. His loss.

Let's HARASS my sister!!

                 Look at my beautiful sister!!

We were talking about natural hair about a month ago, and she said she "would never" wear her hair natural.

She has the most beautiful hair I've ever seen, and her hair set the standard for me when we were kids, (even though I'm older). Lets all BOMBARD her YouTube page with "natural hair energy"!! LOL! She doesn't make YouTube videos (yet), but she asked for my Carols Daughter products, so I think I may have planted the seed!!

Here's her YouTube page :

I'm gonna kick your ARSE!

Today I had to return a blouse I bought a week ago at Marshalls, but on my way out I saw this and giggled....

Sushi Fail

Today was errand day, and my last spot was Marshalls, you know basically a discount, marked down merchandise store that resembles  a high end swap meet. Yeah, that place. ANYWAY, next to Marshalls, is this brand new Sushi restaurant that I thought I'd give a whirl. Here in LA, "SUSHI"restaurant's are ubiquitous and not at all a big deal, so I had the mind set of " try one Sushi restaurant, you've tried them all".
First off, I'm not a big sushi buff at all, I only eat two kinds of sushi rolls : The California and Shrimp Tempura Roll. Yes they are both cooked, therefore to lump these rolls into the "SUSHI" term or description is an understatement....SO, I order the Shrimp Tempura Roll, expecting it to look like this:

Looks yummy right? Well, I got home, opened the Styrofoam lid and got this:

WTF?!?!?! Shrimp Tempura with some type of yellow mayo on it? This was $6?? Well, it turns out I ordered a ROCK Shrimp Tempura Roll, which I found out, is a Spicy Tuna (raw) roll with shrimp tempura covered with a sort of tangy mayo, placed on top. I don't think that's seaweed around it either. Here's a way better pic of another version of a  Rock Shrimp Tempura sushi roll that I "googled":
Needless to say, it was OK, (after I scraped some of that white shitty mayo off) but I had already eaten it before I found out it was raw tuna, but it wasn't bad, but I will definitely not order again.

Troy Polamalu’s Expensive Hair

(article taken from http://blogs.forbes.com/monteburke)

Troy Polamalu’s Expensive Hair

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported today that Steelers’ star safety Troy Polamalu’s flowing black mane has been insured by Lloyd’s of London for $1 million. Polamalu (and his hair), of course, star in those semi-entertaining television ads for Head & Shoulders shampoo, a product that Polamalu has supposedly used for most of his life. The insurance is being paid for by the shampoo’s parent company, Procter & Gamble.
It’s a great publicity stunt. According to the Post-Gazette, Polamalu is insured for on-the-field hair loss only. The possibility of anything horrible happening on the field seems remote. If Larry Johnson’s tackle in 2006 couldn’t do it, nothing can.
Lloyd’s has pulled these stunts before. They’ve insured the legs of Betty Grable and the, um, behind of Jennifer Lopez.

New York City

NEW YORK CITY at night

Ever since I saw movie "Fame" and "Big Business" in the late 80's, I always told myself I would move to New York City when I graduated high school. Later came "Sex and the City", and the urge to move to NYC has been a lot stronger. Recent events in my life (within the last year) keep pointing me towards NYC, and I no longer think its a coincidence, it just may be "whats meant to be" or "in my cards". IDK, I've always been a southern Cali girl, and my family is still here, so I'm totally torn. :(
